Dear HTA members:
Our retired colleagues need our support!
While the HTA (unfortunately) can not negotiate for retirees, we can stand with them as they fight to protect at least SOME of their benefits.
Please plan to attend the Harvard Board of Selectmen’s meeting this Tuesday, October 17th, from 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm. The meeting starts at 6. The public communication is scheduled for 8 pm (but it may start earlier). At 8:15, they plan to “discuss and act on proposed mitigation for retiree health insurance.” Click here to access the full agenda.)
We plan to show up in large numbers to support those who will speak during public comment in favor of the retirees. (Please see the attached pieces from this week’s Harvard Press, written by HTA members Kathleen Doherty and Sharlene Tuttle, which outline the proposal we are advocating.)
Solidarity means standing together – please join us!
